If they’re feeling discomfort the other person must have either some kind of irrational or malevolent intent. And I think it’s very hard for people who are made uncomfortable and when they are confronted with these things to think ‘Okay, I’m uncomfortable and my back is up,’ it’s very hard. Again, is it that hard? It is that hard when you’re offended to get ahold of yourself and say ‘what are you trying to say?’ and how can I move ahead with you where may we don’t get exactly what we want but at least we keep talking?” –Mira Jacob
