WNDB partners with Pearson Online

We Need Diverse Books and the Orlando, FL Pearson Online Learning Services office are announcing an effort to bring the WNDB movement to Pearson’s staff and users. Elizabeth Goueti, the North America Diversity & Inclusion Advocate with Pearson, has began educating the staff of 300 in the Orlando office about the nature of the campaign and its dedication to increasing the visibility of diverse children’s books and authors. In addition to
education, Goueti encouraged the creation and submission of cue cards similar to those that caught the public’s attention during the initial launch of the WNDB social media campaign in May 2014.

Pearson’s dedication to spreading the word also extends to their internal Parent Portal, where they are recommending National Book Award Winner and WNDB advisory board member Jacqueline Woodson’s Brown Girl Dreaming. This effort marks the continued shift toward diversity and inclusion at all levels, including education and learning services. WNDB is excited to begin a relationship with Pearson and witness this growth!
