If you don’t do it perfectly people are going to come with their pitchforks and that’s not fair. We definitely shouldn’t put that pressure on every minority to reflect the whole population.”

How often is work by POCs judged more critically and also not as authentic when certain tropes/stereotypes aren’t represented? nilaffle also speaks to the imbalance between work by POCs and the representations that are expected to be fulfilled. 

There is more than one way to be a person and to be represented in art.
